Rigorous radiolabelling validation methods to ensure that images are correctly interpreted are essential. To achieve this goal all of our data processing methods are verified and accurate corrections for tissue attenuation in different body regions are calculated on a subject- by- subject basis. A complete electronic data trail from raw image file to attenuation, decay and background corrected data forms part of our standard reporting procedure. Whole body transmission imaging to enable accurate determination of regional tissue attenuation factorsto aid quantitation of radiolabel bio-distribution.

Our lung imaging protocols include Krypton-81m gas ventilation scans to ensure accurate definition of lung margins. Transmission imaging is used to derive individual tissue attenuation correction factors. Mass balance studies have proven the accuracy of our procedures.
